Aston Villa v Arsenal 2015 FA Cup Final
As the flagship domestic cup game of the year is just around the corner, the excitement across London and Birmingham is growing all the time. Aston Villa beat West Brom 2-1 this weekend in the Quarter Final of the FA Cup, booking themselves a place in the semi-finals at Wembley next month.
Unfortunately before the end of the game, some Villa fans found the excitement too much to handle and decided to invade the pitch from one of the corners of the stadium. By doing this they took out one of the corner flags before making their way into the middle of the pitch to try to get to the Villa players to “congratulate” them.

Next weekend will see the FA Cup 6th round (quarter finals) take place, with the winner of each game booking a place in the semi-finals at Wembley.
There have been a lot of surprises throughout the cup, especially in the fourth round, which saw two of the big teams, Man City and Chelsea, go out to lower league sides. With Liverpool crashing out of the league cup to Chelsea earlier this week, and considering they were only able to draw 0-0 against Bolton in the FA Cup, Brendan Rogers will have been relishing the prospect of  Sturridge back fit and playing.
The manager said in his pre-match media conference:

The FA Cup Semi Finals were at hand over the weekend as teams from the top three tiers of English football all came together at Wembley Stadium to try and book themselves a second visit to the stadium and into the final of the FA Cup.

Bolton Wanderers meet Stoke this weekend in the FA Cup semi final.  Both clubs have a proud history with arguably a more successful past than present.
Stoke City have never won the FA Cup.  In the early 1970’s they achieved two semi finals during a period when they had their most successful period (Stoke beat Chelsea 2  – 1 in the 1972 League Cup final).  Stoke reached the semi final in 1971 where they faced an Arsenal side chasing an unprecedented domestic double.  The game at Hillsborough ended with a 2 -2 draw with the replay taking place at Villa Park …

Manchester United play neighbour’s City in the FA Cup semi final, to be played at Wembley in April.  (Check out our Manchester City and Manchester United online shops.)
