Unfortunately diving occurs quite often in football and is increasingly becoming more of a problem in today’s football and new measures from the football governing associations are trying hard to stamp it out.
Although it looks increasingly common that players will dive at least once in their career, these can be forgiven for a momentary lapse of judgement. Our list here is focusing on serial offenders who cannot who just can’t help themselves, and as our examples show, they don’t do a very good job of masking their dives.
So we will start out countdown at number five.
Number 5 – Gareth Bale
Since 1995 when the Bosman ruling came into effect, player transfer requests have slowly become more and more frequent. Because of this ruling, players can now leave for free once a contact is finished, therefore making clubs more inclined to sell a player and recoup some of the value.
Within the last 3 years there have been some big names in the world of football, turning their backs on clubs and submitting requests. Fans can often react angrily to players handing in a transfer request, as it often means the player wants to quit the club and move on.
