With the world cup only round the corner, it is time for Roy Hodgson to name his squad for the trip to Brazil this summer. A lot of people have different views on who should be on the plane to represent England. Below are the most popular picks that fans feel should be on the plane.

Fraser Forster (Celtic)– Fraser Forster is a common pick by most fans as he is one of the best goalkeepers that are in the Scottish Premier League. Conceding 38 goals in 51 appearances with a total of 118 saves, Fraser has the best record out of the three keepers that are the most popular picks.

Ben Foster (West Bromwich Albion) – An unusual pick some people may say but playing previously for England, Ben Foster will have the experience of playing internationals and is also a strong starter for his club. There are mixed feelings whether Ben Foster or John Ruddy should be the third keeper on the plane.

Joe Hart (Manchester City) – When thinking of goalkeepers, the first person most people will put in their England squad would be Joe Hart. With experience in England’s top flight football and also performing well for his country, Joe Hart is defiantly one that should be on the plane on route to Brazil.

Leighton Baines (Everton FC) – Along with Ashley Cole, Leighton Baines is one of England’s best full backs and always puts in a performance. A very strong player who has played against some of the best players in the world is a great asset to have to help push England Further through the competition.

Gary Cahill (Chelsea FC) – Gary Cahill has had a strong season alongside John Terry and David Luiz and is another defender that England will be looking to Command the line in the time of need. Cahill is a very strong defender and is great in the air.

Phil Jagielka (Everton FC) – Phil Jagielka and Gary Cahill are very similar defenders as they are both threats in the air. And with the experience they both have, England’s back line should be very strong as both defenders put in hard tackles and have a great understanding of the game.

Glen Johnson (Liverpool FC) – Glen Johnson is part of a Liverpool team that is pushing for the Premier League title, and he has had a great season showing why he should also be on the plane to Brazil.

Phil Jones (Manchester United) – Phil Jones is a player that some people don’t know if he should be making the trip or not, but he is a young defender that is versatile and can be put in many positions. Despite not having the greatest season with United. It is a wonder whether Hodgson will pick him.

Luke Shaw (Southampton) – Luke Shaw has proven that he is defiantly a player that should be England’s future. The young full back has had an amazing season and despite his age, I feel that he has earned his seat onto the plane.

Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspurs) – Kyle Walker is another player that has not had the greatest season for his club, but again with his experience in playing for England and his punishing pace, he could be the extra legs that England need for the competition.

Ross Barkley (Everton FC) – Ross Barkley is another youngster that Roy can pick and is a player that again has proven to be a great asset to the England squad not just for the future but also now. He may not have much international football experience but for his club, he has put in some amazing performances.

Steven Gerrard (Liverpool FC) – One of the main players in the England Squad, Gerrard has again had an amazing season for Liverpool and fully deserves to be on the plane to Brazil. He has experience and is no doubt on everybody’s list to be in the squad.

Jordan Henderson (Liverpool FC) – Jordan Henderson is a player that some people will wonder whether he should be going, but this season he has put in some crucial performances for Liverpool helping them to where they are in the table.

Adam Lallana (Southampton) – The amazing talent he is, Adam Lallana has also proven that he should get a spot on the plane to the World cup. He has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season and is a great asset to the squad.

Frank Lampard (Chelsea FC) – Frank Lampard is also one of England’s main players and is another engine for the squad, between Gerrard and himself it will be hard to choose who should captain England through the world cup.

James Milner (Manchester City) – James Milner is a regular squad member for the England team, with the way some players have been playing this season (Such as Lallana and Sterling), James Milner will be fighting for his spot in the line-up.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal) – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is again another young, talented player that could make a difference in the World Cup, despite his age he has played previously for England and has also played against some of the world’s best players.

Raheem Sterling (Liverpool FC) – The way this player has played this season he should have booked his seat on the plane a long time ago. Sterling has shown that he is a force in the midfield and when he is on his game, a lot of players cannot stop him.

Jack Wilshere (Arsenal) – With Roy Hodgson hoping for no more injuries to any England players, Jack Wilshere is another player that could do without getting injured before the World Cup. When on his game he is a very talented player but he will need to be charm when playing against the best in the world.

Rickie Lambert (Southampton) – Having another great season for his club, Rickie Lambert could be one of those players that might help England through the competition. With his goal scoring record and adept skills at set pieces, he has proven that he can step up to the game.

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) – Wayne Rooney is another player should defiantly be on the plane to the World Cup. The only question about Rooney is whether he should be the Captain over Gerrard and Lampard.

Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool FC) – Sturridge has proven to be one of the best strikers in the Premier league this season with a total of 27 goals. Sturridge should defiantly be on the plane due to his form he is in.

Danny Welbeck (Manchester United) – The final young player on the list, Welbeck has not had the greatest season but he could prove to be the one thing England may need to go that little further through the competition.

A lot of fans will have different opinions on the players but whoever books their place on the plane to Brazil, we will have to back the players to help them in every way to get as far as they can through the competition. The squad is based on the most popular picks from sky sports users.
