Ever since that crushing defeat against Chelsea last year that effectively ended the Reds hopes of lifting the Premier League title, Brendan Rodgers has found himself tripping up over his own words. From the arrogant way he dismissed Jose Mourinho’s ability to set up a team to defend, to the way that he claimed that Tottenham Hotspur should have challenged for the title based on the money they spent, the Liverpool manager has found himself in a rather trying position.

With Raheem Sterling’s controversial BBC interview earlier this week, we’ve taken a look back at some of the best, and worst, player interviews in recent history.
Sterling wanted to get his point across, claiming he is not a “money-grabbing 20-year old” after turning down Liverpool’s latest contract offer of £100,000 a week.
There has been a backlash from the Liverpool fans and management, who believe a player, should not be doing these interviews, especially at such a pivotal point of the season. Liverpool are vying for 4th in the Premier League, which would secure Champions League …

Aston Villa beat West Brom 2-1 this weekend in the Quarter Final of the FA Cup, booking themselves a place in the semi-finals at Wembley next month.
Unfortunately before the end of the game, some Villa fans found the excitement too much to handle and decided to invade the pitch from one of the corners of the stadium. By doing this they took out one of the corner flags before making their way into the middle of the pitch to try to get to the Villa players to “congratulate” them.
With the game not finished, the referee or FA board could have …
