The FA chairman Greg Dyke has announced plans which would introduce new rules to help home-grown players get more opportunities, to play in the top flight of English football.
This would be achieved by restricting the amount of foreign players teams are allowed in their squad. This change tightens the rules which were commissioned regarding home-grown players back in 2013; originally introduced to improve the England team.
The FA chairman has even warned that Premier League football is in danger of having “nothing to do with English people” if it carries on the way it is.

Many other European teams in countries such as Spain, Germany, France and Italy have winter breaks, with teams usually playing their last game before Christmas around the 15th December. They then get a break lasting roughly a month to enjoy the festive period and rest both their mind and body. Next weekend will see the FA Cup 6th round (quarter finals) take place, with the winner of each game booking a place in the semi-finals at Wembley.

With the Champions League group’s announced we thought it would be a great time to take a group-by-group look at the biggest fixtures, expected results and controversy in this latest blog post.
